Life is stressful. Sometimes we just need to talk with someone who understands our fears and anxieties and who can give us another perspective.
In therapy, you and I will work to build a relationship where you feel support and encouragement to explore the areas you desire to change.
I believe you are the best expert on you.
My counseling method combines Existential theory with other techniques. Existentialists believe we search for meaning and purpose in our lives, but we miss out on life when we run away or fear certain things.
I believe we all have freedom of choice and responsibilities for our own choices. Sometimes we lose sight of who we are and what is important to us. We develop anxiety when we are not being authentically “us.” This anxiety keeps us from living a full life.
A good counseling experience supports individual growth and authenticity, which in turn may benefit other relationships, work, and health.
In counseling, we will examine the areas of your life that are causing you pain or discomfort. We will look at the meaning you have placed on certain areas of your life, as well as your strengths and abilities to address life situations.
My style is to be actively involved in the counseling process, not just sit back and say, “How does that make you feel?” I can't make decisions for you, but I will propose possible solutions and options, sharing honest and open feedback and observations.
